Bowl Turning 1 with the Woodturning School Prerequisite: Intro 2 or approved equivalent experience.
Almost everybody loves bowls. Wooden bowls, turned on the lathe, have a warmth and patina unique to themselves. This course will teach the pros and cons of green vs. dry turning; the stance and movement necessary to successful bowl turning; the techniques of “facing” and “rounding up” bowl blanks; and safety procedures for out of balance blanks. Each student will produce at least two bowls, one each of “green” and “dry” wood. All tools and supplies provided.
